The candidate will conduct day-to-day management of accounts by delivering all tax consulting services to the client and bringing in specialists, when necessary. Will assume tax-planning responsibilities for multi-jurisdictional corporate clients, including management of FAS 109 and FIN 48 analyses and state effective tax rate planning. Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business. Lead brainstorming and other technical sessions intended to understand a client or prospective client's state and local tax architecture. The candidate will assist on large projects. Will perform tax research and working with clients on tax matters as well as planning and implementing special projects. Responsible for the compliance function on clients including preparation and technical review of corporate, partnership and personal income tax returns. Prepare and review client tax calculations and returns, management of client tax relationships and supervising and developing staff. Assist with implementation of tax planning and tax savings strategies. Research and consult on tax matters. Manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment.

The candidate should have a B.S. in Accounting. A Master's in Taxation or LL.M. is a plus. CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA required. Must have 2+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend. Should have consolidated C-Corp, FAS 109, FIN 48, partnership, S-Corp, Individual and/or multi-state experience. Should have experience with tax technology.

The candidate will serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams, participating in due diligence and structuring engagements related to transactions that private equity and strategic corporate entities pursue. Will perform due diligence projects to provide a thorough review of corporate tax returns and financials needed to evaluate and calculate potential tax exposures. Review, assess, and advise clients regarding the tax computations reflected in their financial models, and assist clients in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the tax data in their financial projections for the transaction.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related work experience OR a Graduate degree and 1-2 years of related work experience. An accounting major is preferred OR a Master's degree in accounting, MST or J.D./LL.M. would be preferred. Certification as a CPA, Enrolled Agent or Attorney preferred. Must have 2+ years of relevant tax experience. Tax compliance experience preparing or reviewing business tax returns preferred. Must be willing and able to travel, when necessary.
