Participate in the litigation process in cases involving intellectual property matters. Evaluate the validity of competitors' patents and potential company product infringement upon valid patents of competitors. Responsible for pre-patent filing review, providing legal advice to the company concerning the patent viability of its inventions and the advisability of filing patent applications covering the company's inventions. Study allowed claims from the patent maintenance process and makes recommendation to Senior Management. The candidate should preferably have prior Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or Physics. A Baster's degree is preferred. Should be a mid-level attorney and be patent agent qualified. Should have technical knowledge necessary to represent and/or defend company's positions. Related experience in optical or Software medical imaging preferred.

Note: The position will initially be located in Melville, NY to become familiar with the IP process, but will require relocation to Boston, MA metro area after approximately 6-12 months.
