The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant work experience OR a Master's degree and 7 years of relevant work experience. Financial services experience desirable. Should also have CPA, JD or Enrolled Agent certification. Must have education and work experience in one or more of the following areas: accounting/finance/tax, tax software development and/or implementation, tax or finance performance improvement. Should have experience in one or more of the following tax functional areas: corporate/partnership income tax compliance and/or accounting, transfer pricing, information reporting and withholding tax, sales and use tax, VAT, and property tax. Must have experience in one or more of the following specialty areas: designing and implementing tax function operating models; assessing and improving tax processes and controls; implementing tax technology solutions (e.g., CorpTax, OneSource Provision/TaxStream, Sabrix, Vertex O-Series); embedding tax requirements into financial/business systems and processes (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, PAM, Investran); or developing and implementing custom applications (e.g., Visual Studio, VBA/VSTO, SQL Server).

Tax Attorney
The candidate will provide general legal support to the company's tax department, including legal advice related to tax compliance, planning and research. Will support the company in connection with protests, refund claims, lawsuits and other tax litigation. Minimize the exposure of the company in any such tax matters. Advise and consult with managers and other departments on tax issues, and educate internal clients on proactive measures and approaches to reducing all potential tax exposure. Draft, negotiate and interpret tax-related contracts, resolutions, agreements and other legal documentation, including documentation for restructurings and other tax planning, related corporate resolutions, intercompany business combination and loan agreements, set up of legal entities, liquidations, transfer pricing and related agreements, tax service provider agreements. Advise various departments and managers on a diverse range of tax issues, including payroll and employment tax matters, tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions matters, tax aspects of acquisition, ownership and disposition of real property, and escheat matters. Perform tax research and draft related technical tax memoranda. Collaborate and interact with outside counsel regarding tax matters. May draft protests, appeals and similar documents with various government agencies. Partner with other departments on company initiatives. Supervise outside tax vendor billing procedures and budgets.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree or equivalent and must have certifications for practicing law. LL.M. in Taxation is preferred. Must have 7 years of relevant experience. CPA certification and in-house experience is a plus. Technical expertise in corporate tax law and general corporate law an advantage. Familiarity with domestic and international tax principles preferred.
