Tax Manager - Performance and Reward - Tax Technical/Compensation
The candidate will participate in and supervise multiple and challenging executive compensation engagements for a diverse client base, both in and out of the transaction setting, as well as take an active role in managing and growing National Compensation practice and service delivery. Will have the opportunity to gain meaningful exposure to business, grow as an integral member of client services team, and directly interact with clients. Help develop and train staff, as well as keep resces, procedures, and tools current. Will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to other areas of Performance and Reward practice, which may include plan operations, retirement plan risk, and 404 and transaction projects. Manage executive compensation projects both in and out of the transaction setting and perform and/or supervise internal and external market competitive analysis for various executive compensation projects, including base salary, annual incentives, and long-term incentives. Draft technical memos and opinions addressing Code Sections 83, 162(m), 280G and 409A. Assist with or manage the design and implementation of various compensation programs and assess the prevalence of these programs within diverse industries. Assist with or manage analyses of compensation programs in mergers and acquisitions, and analyze salaried jobs within client peer groups. Assist in providing technical advisory services relative to tax, accounting, regulatory and governance matters. Help to grow and sustain ongoing client relationships. Coordinate staffing and fulfillment on projects, including assisting with staffing projects on a national basis through compensation knowledge network. Supervise and provide leadership to staff. Initiate and participate in business development/marketing activities. Assist in developing the company thought leadership culture (such as, assisting with the development of standard methodologies and sharing best practices).

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and 4 years of related work experience. A degree in accounting, business, finance, human resources, or a related field is needed. An MBA, Master's of Tax, or J.D. degree with strong academic credentials would be a plus. Should have 3-4 years of related executive compensation tax experience, preferably in a professional services environment. Prior compensation consulting experience a plus.
