O2 Cuts Euro GC Position for First Euro Legal Panel O2 is, as the company states, ''a leading provider of mobile and broadband services to consumers and businesses in the UK. Their business also extends across the U.K., Ireland, across the English Channel into Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The company, formed in 2001, has added Clifford Chance, Herbert Smith, and Gleiss Lutz to its new European legal panel. They plan to officially eliminate the role of a European General Counsel in January of 2008, when current general counsel, Justine Campbell, who played a key role in this step, will step down from her position. The firms in the new panel have been appointed for a period of two years, as a trial run. The goal is to ''create synergies on a larger scale, rather than just using local firms in each country,'' says Campbell. Imperial Finance and Trading, LLC Appoints New GC Imperial Finance and Trading, LLC, a leader in premium finance for life insurance, life insurance sales and structured settlements, announced Tuesday, December 9, that Anne Dufour Zuckerman is the latest addition to its senior management team, heading the legal department as their new general counsel. Zuckerman has a combined 22 years of legal experience focusing on both business law and commercial litigation. Imperial Finance CEO, Tony Mitchell, commented, ''As Imperial Finance and Trading continues to expand and evolve our market reach, Anne's experience will prove integral as we work toward our goals.'' Hess Corporation Announces Timothy B. Goodell as New GC Hess Corporation, a global integrated energy company engaged in the exploration, production, purchase, transportation, and sale of crude oil and natural gas, announced December 8, that Timothy b. Goodell will be their new Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Goodell leaves his partnership with the law firm White & Case to take this position. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, financing, securities, and corporate governance. John Hess, Chairman and CEO of Hess Corporation, stated, ''We are delighted to have an attorney with such outstanding experience and record of achievement lead our legal team.'' Goodell will begin work in his new position on January 5, 2009. |
