United Steelworkers Union Names New GC Richard Brean was named as the new general counsel of the United Steelworkers Union, which is based in Pittsburgh. Brean is replacing Paul Whitehead, who left to teach law. Brean was promoted from senior associate general counsel at the union. Harman International Industries Selects New Counsel Harman International Industries, a firm that makes audio equipment such as computer speakers, has named Todd A. Suko as their new general counsel. Suko comes over from United Agri Products, where he had the same role. Suko replaces Edwin Summers, who is staying with Harman in a legal role. Former McAfee GC Wins Case against Him Former McAfee general counsel Kent Roberts has won an acquittal in his trial over options backdating, as the government failed to convince the jury that he had intended to commit a crime. The judge declared a mistrial after jurors couldn’t come to a decision. |
