Washington Mutual Appoints New Chief Legal Officer Seattle, Washington-based Washington Mutual Inc. has named Michael Solender chief legal officer of the company. He previously served as general counsel of Bear Stearns in New York. Washington Mutual is a large credit union. Wachovia Hires New General Counsel Wachovia, a very prominent bank based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has hired Jane Sherburne as its new general counsel. Sherburne will replace retiring Mark Treanor. Sherburne is currently the general counsel for Citigroup's Global Consumer Group. Coca-Cola Replaces Vice President and General Counsel Coca-Cola Enterprises, based in Atlanta, has replaced John J. Culhane as vice president and general counsel with John R. Parker Jr. Culhane resigned, and Parker was senior vice president of strategic initiatives for Coca-Cola, so this is a promotion. |
