Billing Pressures Affect Relationships between Firms and Corporate Counsel
Doug Richardson of Report to Legal Management claims that law firms and corporate counsel departments are having increasingly cool relationships. As law firms increase pressure to bill more, legal departments are under pressure to rein in spiraling legal costs, according to Richardson.

Legal Week held a corporate counsel forum in Dubai the last week of June. Dramatic increases in cross-border activity have led to an explosion of in-house counsel positions in the Middle East.

General Counsel Looking to Hire More In-House Lawyers
General counsel are in the mood to fire outside counsel and hire more in-house attorneys, says the ABA Journal. More than half of the general counsel surveyed by the journal want to dump their current outside counsel.
