New GC at Con Edison Con Edison has hired Carole Sobin as its new secretary and associate general counsel. Sobin's most recent position at Con Edison was vice president of purchasing, which she had held since 2002. Previously, she worked as a senior attorney, a general solicitor, and assistant to the chairman at Con Edison as well. However, before joining the company, Sobin worked with the National Labor Relations Board in New York. She received her bachelor's degree from Goucher College and her J.D. from the New York University School of Law. Cedar Fair Hires New GC Amusement park company Cedar Fair has hired Duffield Milkie as its new corporate vice president and general counsel. "I'm very pleased to announce the hiring of Duff Milkie as our new in-house general counsel. With the complexities of our continually growing company, the need for in-house legal expertise within our corporate team has never been greater. I'm confident that Duff has the experience, skills, and desire to meet the demands of his new position," said Chairman, President, and CEO Dick Kinzel. Pfizer's GC Steps Down Pharmaceutical company Pfizer has announced the resignation of General Counsel Allen Waxman, who is leaving the company for personal reasons. Waxman, who became GC in August 2006, has been with the company since 2003. According to Chief Executive Jeff Kindler, "Allen and his team have been strong advocates for Pfizer, securing a number of important legal decisions that are significant for our business and our future." New GC Hired at EFJ EFJ has hired Elaine Flud Rodriguez as its new senior vice president and general counsel. Experienced in legal activities, Rodriguez comes to EFJ from CellStar Corp., where she acted as senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary. Previously, she was vice president, general counsel, and secretary for Zoecon Corp. "Elaine's extensive legal experience and deep understanding of the wireless telecommunications environment will complement management and be a valuable resource in our highly regulated industry. In her new role as general counsel, Elaine will be reporting directly to me, and I look forward to working with her," said EFJ's chairman and CEO, Michael Jalbert. RTS Hires New GC Relational Technology Solutions (RTS) has promoted Dean Frankel to vice president and general counsel. Previously, he served as the company's general counsel and secretary. In his new role he will continue to oversee all legal activities as well as begin to advise the company on risk insurance and employment practices. Frankel's previous work history includes 18 years at Comdisco, holding several positions in its legal departments as well as associate general counsel and acting European general counsel in the United Kingdom. "Since joining RTS in 2005, Dean's wealth of experience in the lease financing industry has greatly benefited our business. During this heightened period of corporate governance accountability, his knowledge and due diligence expertise have been tremendous assets to the organization," said COO Mark Stachulski. |
