Lake Shore Gold Hires New GC Lake Shore Gold Corp. has hired Alasdair Federico as its new corporate secretary and general counsel. Previously, Federico worked in the business law group of McCarthy Tetrault, LLP, providing corporate and securities law advice. He also has experience in commercial, governance, and compliance matters. BATS Trading Hires New GC BATS Trading Inc. has hired Eric Swanson as its new general counsel to work with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Swanson, who served on the SEC from 1996 to 2006, became the assistant director in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations' market oversight, where he supervised the Commission's inspection program. While serving on the SEC, Swanson not only conducted inspections and examinations but also was responsible for "the identification of regulatory risks and the development of parameters for surveillance and examination programs." Regarding Swanson, Chief Executive Joe Ratterman said, "We're excited to add Eric to our growing team and look forward to his contributions as we move towards Exchange status." Swanson graduated from the University of Minnesota and from the Hamline University School of Law. Tiger Airways Hires New GC Tiger Airways has hired Cecilia Lim as its new general counsel. Lim, who has had more than 15 years of commercial and corporate law experience, will be responsible for providing legal assistance to Tiger Aviation Group. Lim will also "manage legal risks and provide strategic legal counsel to the group's board of directors and senior management team." Regarding Lim, Tiger Aviation Group CEO Tony Davis said, "We are delighted to welcome Cecilia to the Tiger Airways team. Cecilia's legal counsel will be instrumental to support the establishment of Incheon Tiger Airways, as well as supporting Tiger Aviation Group's further growth and expansion opportunities across Asia-Pacific." H5 Appoints Former GC to Board of Directors Provider of automated document review and information risk management services H5 has appointed former senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary of Oracle Corporation Raymond L. Ocampo Jr. to its board of directors. Ocampo, who has had more than 30 years of technology and law experience, has not only served as Oracle's senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary but also co-founded the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology in 1997. Regarding Ocampo, H5 CEO Nicolas Economou said, "We are extremely pleased to welcome Ray to H5's board. His presence at Oracle during its years of transformation from a young company to a multibillion-dollar market leader, as well as his broad experience at the intersection of technology and law, makes him an invaluable addition to our management team." General Mills Hires New GC General Mills has hired Roderick "Rick" Palmore as its new executive vice president, chief compliance and risk management officer, and general counsel. Palmore, whose responsibilities will include overseeing the company's legal activities, corporate ethics and compliance, and corporate security, recently served as executive vice president and general counsel at Sara Lee Corporation. According to General Mills CEO Ken Powell, "with his considerable legal, government, and consumer product industry experience, Rick brings outstanding credentials to this important leadership role." |
