BDSI Hires New GC BioDelivery Sciences International has hired Charles Dadswell as its new general counsel. Dadswell, who recently served as GlaxoSmithKline's vice president of U.S. intellectual property, is described as a "strategic hire" by BDSI's CEO Mark Sirgo. "The expertise that Chuck brings in-house to BDSI will better enable us to protect our key intellectual property assets and developments and also to help ensure that we are implementing the proper IP strategies going forward." His responsibilities will include centralizing and monitoring their "growing network of contractual obligations" and helping with costs. BB&T Hires New GC BB&T Corp. has hired Frances Jones as its new corporate secretary, chief corporate-governance officer, and general counsel. Beginning January 2, Jones, who was BB&T's associate general counsel, will replace Patricia Oliver and be responsible for managing a team of 51 lawyers and legal professionals. Jones came to BB&T in 2001. DPL Hires New GC Douglas Taylor will replace Miggie Cramblit as Dayton Power and Light Co.'s newest senior vice president, corporate secretary, and general counsel. Taylor, who will be responsible for all legal affairs, previously served as managing director at Natsource, LLC, Cinergy Corp., and as a lawyer at number of firms. Domino's Pizza Hires New GC Domino's Pizza has hired Ken Rollin as its new executive vice president and general counsel. Rollin previously served as deputy general counsel at AutoNation, and as senior attorney for Walgreen Co., where he established their litigation practice. "We are thrilled to have Ken join our team. We were fortunate to have many outstanding candidates emerge from our national search process, and Ken impressed us as having the credentials, experience, and engaging personality that we were looking for in our new general counsel," said Domino's Chairman and CEO David A. Brandon. KCS Hires New GC Transportation holding company KCS has hired Leonard L. Wagner as its new associate general counsel. Wagner, who previously comes from Husch & Eppenberger, LLC, Armstrong Teasdale, LLC, and Watson, Ess, Marshall & Enggas, brings almost 20 years of legal experience to KCS. According to the senior vice president and chief legal officer William J. Wochner, "Leonard will be a valuable member of our legal team." Wagner received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his B.A. in English from Rockhurst College. OceanaGold Hires New GC OceanaGold has hired Matthew Salthouse as its new company secretary and general counsel. Salthouse, who previously was company secretary and legal counsel at Drivetrain Systems International Pty. Ltd., has served as a senior associate at Chambers & Company, consulting on merges for varying mining and resource companies. He is a graduate of Monash University in Melbourne, having received his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics and holds a Graduate Diploma of Industrial Relations. From the London School of Economics, Salthouse received an Advanced Certificate — Business Analysis & Valuation. "Matthew's broad legal experience and familiarity with the mining industry will make [him] a valuable contribution and strengthen OceanaGold's executive management team," said OceanaGold's CEO, Steve Orr. |
