Landquest appoints Vining as GC Landquest, a residential development firm specializing in the acquisition, permitting, and construction of communities on the East Coast, has announced the appointment of Steven Vining to the post of general counsel. In his new position, Vining will manage transaction-related issues, including land acquisition, zoning, and permitting matters. Vining formerly practiced at his own law firm in Cary, NC, for 10 years. He served as an outside attorney for Landquest prior to joining the firm and has also served as a partner with Weston, Benshoof, Rochefort, Rubalcava and MacCuish, LLP, in Los Angeles. Sharon Cheever will be Pacific Life's next GC Pacific Life Insurance has appointed Sharon Cheever as the company's next general counsel; she will assume her new position on January 1, 2008. Prior to joining Pacific Life in 1986, Cheever was an associate at O'Melveny & Myers. She will succeed David Carmichael, who has served Pacific Life for 30 years, spending the last 15 years of his career as general counsel. Pacific Life, founded in 1868, provides insurance products, annuities, and mutual funds and offers a variety of investment products and services to individuals and businesses. |
