RDA appoints new VP and GC The Reader's Digest Association, Inc., has announced that Andrea Newborn will be its new vice president and general counsel. Newborn, who formerly served as the company's vice president and associate general counsel, will now report directly to Mary Berner, President and CEO. Newborn most recently provided counsel to the company's businesses QSP, Books Are Fun, and Taste of Home Entertaining. Since joining RDA in 1991, she has advised many of the company's U.S.-based managers and departments and has led a number of significant worldwide projects. An international publisher and direct marketer of books, magazines, music collections and videos, The Reader's Digest Association maintains a presence in more than 70 countries. FTSE 250 insurance company appoints new GC Amlin, PLC, a London-based FTSE 250 company, has appointed prominent insurance specialist Robert Robinson as its new general counsel. Robinson joins Amlin from Liberty Syndicate Management, where he served as syndicate counsel and worked on property and casualty insurance and reinsurance matters. Prior to joining Amlin's underwriting group in 2005, Robinson was a partner at insurance law firm Lord, Bissell & Brook for eight years. Focusing on aviation, international property, and casualty, marine, and UK commercial matters, Amlin is a leader in the London insurance and reinsurance sector. RenaissanceRe promotes Bowden Tracy Bowden, the former Vice President and General Counsel of Glencoe U.S. Holdings, Inc., the holding company for RenaissanceRe's individual-risk business, has been promoted to senior vice president and general counsel. She will also take on additional responsibility as Chief Compliance Officer for Glencoe Specialty Holdings, Inc., the holding company for RenaissanceRe's U.S. insurance entities. Bowden will oversee all corporate, legal, regulatory, and compliance matters for the company. She joined RenaissanceRe from TIG Insurance Company, where she was vice president and associate general counsel. An international insurance corporation, RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. focuses its business on two categories: reinsurance and individual risk matters. New VP, CAO, and GC at American Tower American Tower Corporation has named Edmund DiSanto as its new executive vice president, chief administrative officer, and general counsel. Reporting to Chief Executive Officer Jim Taiclet, DiSanto will oversee the company's legal, compensation, risk management, and human resources matters. Prior to joining American Tower, DiSanto was Vice President of Global Service Partners Business Development at Pratt & Whitney, a company that provides world-class engines to the aviation industry. Boston, MA-based American Tower owns and operates more than 30,000 wireless- and broadcast-communications sites across the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. |
