Proformance Insurance names new GC A subsidiary company of National Atlantic Holdings Corporation (NAHC), Proformance Insurance Company has named Douglas A. Wheeler, Esq., as its general counsel. Wheeler, who joined the company in 2006 as vice president, will now take on additional responsibility for providing solutions to the company's legal problems. Earlier, he served the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance as its assistant commissioner and chief of staff. NAHC, along with its subsidiaries, provide property and casualty insurance and insurance-related services in the state of New Jersey. Regions GC departs General Counsel for Regions Financial Corporation Alan Deer is slated to resign from his post. The position will be taken over by former AmSouth Bancorp lawyer John Buchanan. Since the bank combined its operations with rival AmSouth last year, a total of three of its top executives, including Deer, have left. A premier financial services company, Regions has more than $140 billion in assets and is one of the nation's largest providers of consumer and commercial banking, trust, securities brokerage, mortgage, and insurance products and services. U.S. Concrete promotes Lindeman to VP and GC Curt M. Lindeman will be the new Vice President and General Counsel of U.S. Concrete, Inc. Having joined the company as assistant general counsel, Lindeman most recently served as its corporate secretary. In his new position, he will manage legal matters for the company, including corporate policies and strategies, business transactions, contracts, and litigation. Prior to joining the company, Lindeman was in private practice and represented companies in corporate and commercial transactions. With 138 fixed and seven portable ready-mixed concrete plants, U.S. Concrete serves construction companies by providing them with prepared concrete and related products. KBA selects Fletcher's GC to serve as executive director Jim Deckard, General Counsel for Governor Ernie Fletcher, has been selected to serve as Executive Director of the Kentucky Bar Association. Deckard takes on the position as a result of the retirement of Bruce Davis, who ran the bar association for 24 years. He formerly served as Counsel and Chief of State to Chief Justice Joseph Lambert, who was part of the search committee named by KBA President Bob Ewald. An independent agency of the Supreme Court of Kentucky, the Kentucky Bar Association currently has about 15,400 members. Partner leaves law firm to join medical institute Stowers Institute for Medical Research has hired David Welte as the company's new full-time general counsel. Welte has been associated with law firm Polsinelli, Shalton, Welte & Suelthaus for 31 years and has been serving the Stowers Institute on an in-house basis. Stowers Institute for Medical Research conducts basic biomedical research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of diseases. |
