New GC for healthcare major Health Net, Inc., has announced the appointment of Linda Tiano as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary. Tiano has significant experience with health plans as well as securities and corporate governance issues. Formerly, Tiano was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for WellChoice, Inc., and following the company's acquisition by WellPoint, Inc., in 2005, she was named Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for the East Region and National Accounts for WellPoint. Health Net's HMO, POS, insured PPO, and government-contracts subsidiaries provide health benefits through group, individual, Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, and Veterans Affairs programs. Diageo North America appoints new GC Diageo, the world's leading beer, wine, and spirits company, has appointed Kellye Walker as General Counsel for Diageo North America. Walker will be a member of the company's North America executive team and will steer it through the complex legal environment of the industry. Prior to joining Diageo, Walker was Chief Legal Officer and a member of the senior management team at BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc. Having worked with three law firms before joining BJ's, Walker has had significant experience with mergers and acquisitions, private financing, and general corporate governance. Mike Williams to serve as COO and GC at AutoInfo AutoInfo, Inc., has named Mike Williams Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for the company's subsidiary, Sunteck Transport Company, Inc. Joining the company's management team, Williams will advise on business development, operations, and legal issues. He comes from a large service logistics company where he worked on business development and acted as general counsel, operating the legal and compliance division. A non-asset-based transportation services company, AutoInfo provides transportation capacity and other transportation services to U.S. and Canadian shippers. Christopher Hinckley named GC for Missouri Gaming Commission Former Prosecuting Attorney for the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office Christopher Hinckley has been appointed General Counsel for the Missouri Gaming Commission. The move follows the November termination of Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon after conflicts arose over the commission's proposed takeover of Casino Aztar in Caruthersville, MO. Formed in 1993, the Missouri Gaming Commission ensures that licensed gaming operations are run according to their rules and with full disclosure. Canadian oil major appoints VP and GC Joanne L. Alexander has been named Vice President and General Counsel for Western Oil Sands, Inc. Alexander will also serve as the company's Corporate Secretary and Officer. Prior to this appointment, she was General Manager of Stakeholder Engagement and Regulatory Affairs at ConocoPhillips. Western Oil Sands is a Canadian hydrocarbon resources developer. |
