New GC at Entelos John T. Rigsbee has been named General Counsel for Entelos, Inc. Working on the company's corporate matters, including intellectual property, licensing, and technology issues, Rigsbee brings with him a rich twelve years of experience in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Prior to his appointment to General Counsel, he was Corporate Counsel at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, where he focused on research and development issues, licensing and acquisitions, and medical and clinical matters. A life sciences company, Entelos specializes in providing predictive models to validate new drugs and introduces novel ways to discover and develop medicines. Kansas City Southern appoints Associate GC Kansas City Southern, a transportation holding company, appointed David Reeves Associate General Counsel at its headquarters. Reeves will represent the company on regulatory and litigation matters before the Surface Transportation Board and the U.S. Department of Transportation. As a former employee of Washington-based Baker & Miller, PLLC, Reeves has the experience to represent Kansas City Southern on acquisition assignments. The company will gain leverage from Reeves' expertise and seek his advice regarding its capacity expansion plans. The company intends to increase traffic in the Meridian Speedway corridor and also reconstruct the Victoria to Rosenberg strip in Texas. Mannatech nominates Keith Clark as Senior VP and GC Mannatech, Inc., a health solution company, nominated B. Keith Clark as Senior Vice President and General Counsel on a two year employment agreement. Prior to joining Mannatech, Clark was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Metromedia Restaurant Group, a major privately held company in the United States. Clark's inclusion will serve the company's intention to undertake further expansion. Mannatech is involved in developing innovative, high-quality proprietary nutritional supplements, topical products, and weight management products. Spartan Stores appoints Executive VP, GC, and Corp. Secretary Spartan Stores, Inc., has strengthened its executive management team with the inclusion of Alex J. DeYonker. DeYonker has been appointed Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary; he will manage legal and general management issues. DeYonker, an erstwhile partner at Warner Norcross & Judd, LLP, headed the firm's business law group. He is also experienced in mergers and acquisitions, as well as general corporate and securities law matters. Michigan-based Spartan Stores is amongst the area's largest grocery distributors, with warehouse facilities in Grand Rapids and Plymouth, Michigan. The company will rely heavily on DeYonker's legal advice as it plans for expansion in the region. Lehman Brothers hires MD and GC in Europe Lehman Brothers appointed senior lawyer Elizabeth Lee Managing Director and General Counsel to manage its European corporate advisory division. Lee joins Lehman Brothers from General Electric, where she served as Global General Counsel in the consumer finance section. Lehman Brothers' 160 member corporate advisory division is responsible for the firm's compliance, corporate communications, government relations, internal audit, investor relations, legal and regulatory, and transaction management and documentation activities. PrivateBancorp creates new GC position PrivateBancorp, Inc., nominated Christopher J. Zinski to their recently created General Counsel post. Zinski will assist with a wide range of company, regulatory, and risk management issues. He comes from Chicago-based Schiff Hardin, LLP, where he was an equity partner and headed the financial institutions practice. At Schiff Hardin, he focused on corporate, securities, and regulatory work, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, de novo bank formations, corporate governance, employee benefits, and SEC reporting for financial institutions, and their holding companies. Prior to joining Schiff Hardin, Zinski was partner and co-founder of Breyer & Zinski in Washington, D.C., a law firm representing financial institutions in corporate transactions and regulatory matters. |
