New Deputy General Counsel at SEC Andrew Vollmer has been appointed as Deputy General Counsel for The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and will assist in managing the Commission's 100-lawyer-strong in-house team. Prior to joining the organization, Vollmer was vice-chair of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr, LLP's securities group in Washington, DC. He specializes in securities matters and has experience representing clients subject to enforcement investigations by the SEC. With several notable cases to his credit, Vollmer succeeds Meyer Eisenberg, who retired from the Commission in January. Cabrera named GC at Synopsys Brian Cabrera has been appointed the General Counsel, Vice President, and Secretary by Synopsys, Inc., a leading semiconductor design software provider. With nearly 18 years of software and hardware experience, Cabrera will manage all legal matters at Synopsys and report to Chief Financial Officer Brian Beattie. Cabrera comes from Callidus Software, Inc., where he served as Senior Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel. Synopsys, Inc., a well-known electronic company, is headquartered in Mountain View, CA, and has more than 60 offices in Northern America, Japan, Asia, and Europe. Morris new GC at Picis June Morris has been named General Counsel, Senior Vice President, and Secretary for the Board of Directors at Picis. She brings 20 years experience in the field of information technology. Prior to this appointment, Morris served as General Counsel and Vice President at Pegasystems, Inc. Picis, a leader in providing the latest technology on healthcare, is headquartered in Wakefield, MA, and has installed systems in more than 1,000 medical centers and hospital networks all over the world. Schwiesow joins Deltek David Schwiesow has been appointed General Counsel at Deltek. Schwiesow has 30 years' experience in finance, acquisition, litigation, securities, and corporate matters. Most recently, Schwiesow served as Deputy General Counsel, Managing Director, and Vice President at Bearing Point, where he supervised 17,000 employees in all aspects of general and corporate securities matters. Deltek is a proven leader in providing enterprise management software to organizations that are project-focused. Edelman new GC at Swett & Crawford Atlanta-based leading insurance broker Swett & Crawford Group has appointed Elizabeth Edelman its new General Counsel. A former General Counsel, Vice President, and Corporate Secretary from RBC Centura Bank, Edelman brings with her more than 20 years of legal and banking experience. Prior to this, she had counseled Security First Network Bank and Heller Financial. Swett & Crawford has delivered exceptional services to the commercial insurance marketplace for more than 91 years. Tasty Baking announces new GC Laurence Weilheimer has been appointed General Counsel of Tasty Baking Company. He will be looking after all legal matters, including corporate governance, SEC and regulatory compliance, commercial contracting, and general legal services. Earlier with Towers, Perrin, Forster & Crosby, Inc., Weilheimer brings more than 15 years of experience.
