AP appoints new GC Associated Press has named Srinandan Kasi as Vice President and General Counsel. Kasi has been working with the Associated Press since 2004, prior to which he was at Dewey Ballantine, LLP. He has also served as General Counsel, Head of Strategic Planning, for a technology company and worked as a scientist for IBM. He specializes in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Established in 1846, Associated Press is a not-for-profit cooperative with 3,700 employees and more than 240 bureaus worldwide. New GC at Rewards Network Roya Behnia has been named Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary, and Chief Privacy Officer at Rewards Network, Inc. Prior to the appointment, she was Assistant General Counsel at SPX Corporation. Behnia specializes in mergers, acquisitions, and litigation and obtained her J.D. from the University of Chicago. Based in Chicago, Rewards Network provides marketing services and loyalty programs to the restaurant industry. Wilson named GC at Texas Apartment Association Texas Apartment Association has announced the appointment of Wendy R. Wilson as General Counsel. Previously, Wilson was General Counsel for Sen. John Carona for four years. A trade association, Texas Apartment Association represents rental housing owners and companies that supply services to the rental housing industry. The association is an Austin-based company with more than 10,000 members and has 25 affiliated associations. Gemmiti named GC at Scottish Re Nathan Gemmiti has been appointed General Counsel at Scottish Re Group Ltd. Having joined Scottish Re in 2003, Gemmiti had been serving as Senior Vice President and Associate Counsel. Prior to joining Scottish Re, he served as Corporate Counsel at Forum Financial Group, a Global Transaction Services company. Based in Charlotte, Scottish Re is a global reinsurance company and provides custom wealth-management solutions on life insurance for high-net worth clients. ACE names Deputy GC The ACE Group of Companies has appointed Patricia Henry Deputy General Counsel for Government and Industry Affairs for ACE Group Holdings, Inc. Henry will be based in Philadelphia. In her new role, Henry will supervise the company's relations with governmental and industry organizations worldwide, while also managing ACE's memberships in various industry organizations such as the American Insurance Association and the Reinsurance Association of America. Prior to the appointment, she was General Counsel for the company's operations in North America and was the Director of Litigation. With subsidiaries in more than 50 countries, The ACE Group of Companies is a proven leader in insurance and reinsurance business and serves clients worldwide. McDonald named GC at Cooper Kevin M. McDonald has been named Senior Vice President and General Counsel by Cooper Industries, Inc. McDonald will replace Diane K. Schumacher, who is the current Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer. Schumacher will continue as Special Counsel, overseeing litigation matters and the Federal-Mogul bankruptcy issue. Presently, McDonald is Associate General Counsel of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Cooper Industries manufactures electrical products and tools and recorded revenues of $4.7 billion for 2005. |
